As the year''s busiest highway travel season approaches, 12 states are being recognized for lifesaving highway safety programs that have dramatically lowered fatalities. Fifteen Roadway Safety Awards were announced November 7 by the Roadway Safety Foundation (RSF) and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA).
"State departments of transportation are working with local agencies, law enforcement, schools, and the public to put an end to the devastating loss of life on our nation''s highways.
