CONEXPO Asia 2007 will be held December 4-7, 2007 at the China Import and Export Fair (CIEF) - Pazhou Complex in Guangzhou.

Overview:
CONEXPO Asia 2007 will feature exhibits of the latest technologies and innovations in construction-related equipment, products and services from leading manufacturers, both Chinese and non-Chinese. Industry educational programs and live equipment demonstrations will extend the value of the exhibits and offer a quality learning experience with real-life business solutions for industry professionals from China, Asia-Pacific and beyond.

CONEXPO Asia is aimed at industry professionals involved in all segments of the construction equipment and materials industries, including contractors and sub-contractors, material producers, dealers, rental companies, and government and institutional sector officials. CONEXPO Asia 2007 expects about 35,000 industry professionals from China, Asia-Pacific and beyond.

The show is the only international, China-based exhibition run by the industry and for the benefit of the industry.

CONEXPO Asia is moving to Guangzhou, in the southernmost tip of mainland China. Guangzhou is China''s earliest trading port and today a key area for the country’s economic development, a major gate to business activities with the rest of the world. It is an affluent, bustling city and as the hub for the Chinese manufacturing industry one of the fastest economically growing districts in the world.

At the same time, Guangzhou offers visitors places of historical interest and beautiful inland countryside, as well as convenient access to nearby Hong Kong, Zhuhai or tropical Hainan Island, ideal for visitors wishing to extend their stay for a few days.

Located only 170 km from neighboring Hong Kong, Guangzhou is easily accessible by plane, high-speed train, car, bus or even ferry. CONEXPO Asia 2007 will be held at Guangzhou''s China Import and Export Fair (CIEF), Pazhou Complex and is expected to cover more than 100,000 square meters (more than 1 million square feet) of indoor and outdoor exhibit space. The CIEF is a first-class convention center with state-of-the-art amenities and easy access by metro lines, buses and taxis. The facility is also the venue for the world famous Canton Fair, China oldest and largest trade show.
 
New in 2007: Expanded Live Equipment Demonstrations & Industry Education Programs to Help Improve Your Business
 CONEXPO Asia is the only show in China that will give attendees the opportunity to see equipment in action at live demonstrations. Designated areas will cover paving and milling, compaction, earthmoving, compact equipment, and handheld and walk-behind equipment.

At the inaugural show in 2006, CONEXPO Asia received many accolades in China for its groundbreaking trade show education program. Equipment manufacturers and end-users are working together to refine and expand the education sessions offered in 2006 to provide even more value to attendees at the 2007 event.

The 2006 education program included sessions on product safety and efficiencies, recycling, construction management, and financial aspects of renting and leasing. The 2007 program will expand upon these core offerings to include sessions on construction projects in China, project management, machinery applications and efficiencies, safety and “green” construction, as well as professional development topics. Presenters will include world experts in their fields.
 
Registration & Housing:
 CONEXPO Asia 2007 advance registration and official housing reservation opened in June 2007. Show management has secured several leading hotels in Guangzhou for the convenience of attendees and exhibitors from China and overseas. Registration to attend the show is free of charge.

Background of CONEXPO Asia:
AEM initiated CONEXPO Asia as a cost-effective method for leading construction industry suppliers to meet with customers and discuss the safety, efficiency and productivity advances of the equipment and products on display.

The inaugural CONEXPO Asia was held in May 2006 in Beijing, China. The show had the support of more than a dozen in-country allied customer, government, and other industry groups. CONEXPO Asia was well-received and met its primary objective to create the only China-based exhibition run by the industry and for the benefit of the industry.

CONEXPO Asia 2006 featured 192 exhibitors that displayed their products and services. Approximately half the companies were Chinese and half non-Chinese. More than 13,100 industry professionals from all Chinese provinces, Asia-Pacific and beyond attended the show, coming from over 75 different countries, including China, Australia, United States, South Korea, India, Japan, Russia, Philippines, Singapore and Malaysia. Non-Chinese visitors accounted for approximately 18 percent of the overall attendance.

More than 80 percent of attendees were high-quality professionals, with titles including president/owner, vice president, general manager, chief financial officer and other company decision-makers.
