The World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims was held on Sunday, 18 November. The day was organised by RoadPeace and endorsed by the United Nations and is observed on the third Sunday of November every year. The first Day of Remembrance for Road Crash Victims was initiated by RoadPeace in London in 1993 and adopted by the UN as the World Day of Remembrance in 2005.
