Trip-Edge V-Plows

Hiniker’s new line of high-performance trip-edge V-plows provides improved performance and smoother operation. The pinch-free pivot point of the trip-edge is located 9 inches above ground level. Each side of the plow trips independently, making tripping action smooth. The 30-inch-tall moldboard features a low-friction, high-density polyethylene surface that is corrosion free and dent resistant. Double-acting hydraulic cylinders provide control of moldboard positioning, whether plowing forward or backdragging. All functions are controlled by a compact joystick controller that can be handheld or mounted in the cab.

Stop sign monitoring system

Redflex Traffic Systems’ new Redflexstopsign is designed to improve community safety at stop sign intersections. The technology works by detecting a vehicle approaching the stop sign. If the vehicle fails to come to a complete stop, the system triggers a sequence of both video and digital still images, resulting in a citation being issued. The first installation of Redflexstopsign enforcement was recently implemented in southern California.

Classic lighting

The new Shorewood classically styled lantern from Sun Valley Lighting is designed to enhance historic restorations and new commercial projects. The light can be wall or pole mounted and features a self-contained ballast compartment with quick-disconnect capability that allows the electrical module to be unplugged and replaced in seconds. The lantern features a rounded dome and curved base with vintage detailing. The wall-mounted model is 31-inches high and has a 22-inch-tall scrolled arm that extends 25 inches from the wall. The pole-mounted model is 44-inches high. The fixture arm and housing are constructed from corrosion-resistant cast-aluminum material designed to withstand severe climates.

Compact snowplow

The Meyer Drive Pro is a lightweight snowplow with a 22.5-inch-tall by 6-foot-, 8-inch-wide 14-gauge steel moldboard designed for areas with limited space. The plow has slot-and-tab construction, heavy-duty trip springs, robotically welded seams and cross sections, and triple-layered waterproof seals. It also comes with heavy-duty 1.5-inch rams commonly used with larger plows.

Transportation communication equipment control

The new DR2000 Platinum software system from Quixote Transportation Technologies is designed for data management, communication, and viewing of transportation communication equipment including highway advisory radio systems, community radio systems, flashing beacon systems, and variable message signs. The system consists of a central server that manages and stores all information about the devices and client software that allows a user to manipulate and control the central server. It monitors, creates, and changes broadcast messages of each highway advisory radio connected to the software.

Rotating bird repeller

Bird-B-Gone’s solar-powered Repeller uses continuous motion to prevent large birds from landing. Rotating rods mounted on top of the unit sweep birds off streetlights and other locations. The two adjustable arms cover up to 5 feet in diameter by turning continuously at 30 revolutions per minute. The unit can be mounted on flat or angled surfaces.

Heavyweight brush chipper

The Typhoon 20 heavyweight brush chipper from Morbark offers an 18.5-inch-wide drum and feed wheel, so there’s virtually no dead space. The six knife pockets allow three full cuts per revolution for greater chipping efficiency. The unit is equipped with a 4- by 8-inch center beam and a 66.5- by 40.5-inch infeed chute. A redesigned pivot eliminates the yoke swing and increases down pressure efficiency. The unit comes with a 2.5-inch lunet ring, 20,000-pound tandem axle suspension, heavy-duty 0.375-inch chains, and clasp hooks to secure it for towing.

Stand-alone solar lighting

Carmanah’s stand-alone solar lighting solutions can be placed anywhere light is needed. The company says their lighting is easy to install with no need for trenching, cabling, or permits; can be installed at a fraction of the cost of a hard-wired alternative; and is durable, long lasting, and maintenance free.

Vibration-dampening diamond blade

Bosch Power Tools and Accessories says their new SpeedWave Diamond Blades with the world’s first vibration-dampening Cooling Disc, cut faster and last longer. The center Cooling Disc uses the blades rotation to draw in air and evenly cool the blade surface. A new wave-shaped ridge along both sides of each segment reduces blade friction and drag, and helps clear dust faster. The Cooling Disc’s design and position on the blade help absorb vibration for a smoother cut. Blades are available in 4.5-, 5-, 7-, and 9-inch diameters. Applications include crack repair and expansion-joint cleanout on bridge decks and roadways.

Salt/sand rate controller

Hydromann’s new automatic speed-compensating rate controller is now available for their hydraulic-drive salt and sand spreaders. It makes it easy to maintain accurate and efficient salt and sand placement for ice control.
