New Materials and Supplies for the Road Industry Trip-Edge V-Plows Stop sign monitoring system Classic lighting Compact snowplow Transportation communication equipment control The new DR2000 Platinum software system from Quixote Transportation Technologies is designed for data management, communication, and viewing of transportation communication equipment including highway advisory radio systems, community radio systems, flashing beacon systems, and variable message signs. The system consists of a central server that manages and stores all information about the devices and client software that allows a user to manipulate and control the central server. It monitors, creates, and changes broadcast messages of each highway advisory radio connected to the software. Rotating bird repeller Heavyweight brush chipper The Typhoon 20 heavyweight brush chipper from Morbark offers an 18.5-inch-wide drum and feed wheel, so there’s virtually no dead space. The six knife pockets allow three full cuts per revolution for greater chipping efficiency. The unit is equipped with a 4- by 8-inch center beam and a 66.5- by 40.5-inch infeed chute. A redesigned pivot eliminates the yoke swing and increases down pressure efficiency. The unit comes with a 2.5-inch lunet ring, 20,000-pound tandem axle suspension, heavy-duty 0.375-inch chains, and clasp hooks to secure it for towing. Stand-alone solar lighting Carmanah’s stand-alone solar lighting solutions can be placed anywhere light is needed. The company says their lighting is easy to install with no need for trenching, cabling, or permits; can be installed at a fraction of the cost of a hard-wired alternative; and is durable, long lasting, and maintenance free. Vibration-dampening diamond blade Bosch Power Tools and Accessories says their new SpeedWave Diamond Blades with the world’s first vibration-dampening Cooling Disc, cut faster and last longer. The center Cooling Disc uses the blades rotation to draw in air and evenly cool the blade surface. A new wave-shaped ridge along both sides of each segment reduces blade friction and drag, and helps clear dust faster. The Cooling Disc’s design and position on the blade help absorb vibration for a smoother cut. Blades are available in 4.5-, 5-, 7-, and 9-inch diameters. Applications include crack repair and expansion-joint cleanout on bridge decks and roadways. Salt/sand rate controller Hydromann’s new automatic speed-compensating rate controller is now available for their hydraulic-drive salt and sand spreaders. It makes it easy to maintain accurate and efficient salt and sand placement for ice control. |
