
In place surface recycling method is a method of heating existing surface course materials and re-mixing and then paving with them. This method offers an economical and rational way of pavement rehabilitation.
Merits are;
1. Economical: As existing asphalt mixtures are re-used, the use of new asphalt mixture is minimized. 2. Rapidity & Safety: As the construction work is finished with one pass of machines, decrease inconvenience to traffic and residents of roadsides in addition to safe construction work. 3. Improvement of quality: Surface geometrics and asphalt mixture of existing pavements are simultaneously improved. 4. Environment Preservation: No need of pavement wastes transportation and no need of wasting stock place. In addition, the problems of noise, vibration and dusts are minimized.
Where to use In Place Surface Recycling Method?
In Place Surface Recycling Method is an effective method when the damages of surface is light and when the only the surface course is damaged and binder course and base course are sound. In detail, reference the table below.

ReMix

Features: By adding new asphalt mixture, comprehensive quality improvement of existing mixture is possible. In addition, geometrics of surface and increasing of pavement depth is simultaneously possible.
RePave

Features: Nee mixtures are spread on recycled mixtures and they are simultaneously compacted, thus improve the geometrics of surface and increase the pavement depth. Moreover, by adding additive agent for recycling, old asphalts are renewed.
