GENCOR SILOS Bituma first began making hot mix storage silos in the early 1970''s as Bituma-Stor, formerly Boeing Construction Company, building a reputation for quality products, which has carried forth and expanded as Gencor Industries. Well recognized in the industry as having the heaviest and most durable construction equipment, Bituma earned its way into the market as being "built like a battleship" with technological innovations in hot mix storage that are still imitated today. Features such as the dual flow anti-segregation silos, the innovative one and two-piece Self-erect silos, uniquely designed bottom safety gates, long-term storage seals and unconditional warranties unmatched in the industry are what have made Bituma silos the standard by which all others are measured. Today Bituma, as part of the Gencor family of companies carries on the tradition of building the heaviest and most innovative hot mix storage silo systems in the industry. With even greater emphasis on longer storage and concerns for the environment, Bituma continues to be on the cutting edge of technology with features such as THERMOTITE seals and blue smoke capture systems for hot mix storage silos. STATIONARY SILO Innovative design and quality construction have maintained the reputation of Gencor hot mix storage systems around the world. The continuous-weld silo body provides enormous strength and maximum structural integrity to tolerate heat and vibration. The unique cone support design eliminates the risk of bottoming out. Gencor unique design features such as, the dual-flow batcher and dual safety gates, make Gencor the most dependable and safest silo storage system in the industry. The massive seismic frame construction is unmatched in the industry, typically Features:
SE SILO Innovative design and quality Construction make Gencor’s? Self-Erecting Storage silos the best in the industry. The continuous-weld body provides enormous strength and maximum structural integrity to tolerate heat and vibration The one-piece portable SE silo, available in 70 and 100 ton capacity, Is easy to transport and self-erects in Just 10 minutes. It is also up to 50% heavier than competitive portable units to withstand the rigors of frequent travel. Features:
PORTABLE SILO
Features: ?" double welded body
Quick Draw Silo The “Quick Draw?” – a unique concept that combines both fast load-out time and reduced segregation in a simple, rugged package. In addition, unlike typical silos with internal cones, the Quick Draw’s unique internal design draws hot mix across the entire bottom of the silo evenly and smoothly, virtually eliminating the hour-glass effect and segregation, creating more usable storage volume. For retrofit applications this can mean as much as 15 tons extra storage in the same space which is normally taken-up by the cone. The result is improved quality and consistency of the hot mix going to the paver, without the need to re-handle or re-mix. Like all Gencor silos, Quick Draw? silos include the best safety features in the industry, with three separate independently driven safety-gates to prevent accidental overloading in the unlikely event the primary gates fail and a cross beam support design to eliminate the chance of bottoming-out. Best of all, the speed, durability and safety of the Quick Draw? silo system means faster turnaround at your plant, thus less time lost for your trucks and also improved mix quality. Take a look at the many benefits of the Quick Draw : Fastest loading in under 10 seconds
The exclusive patent pending quick-draw gates BOTTOM OF SILO BLUE SMOKE SYSTEM Vapors are typically released as the hot HMA contacts the release agent during truck loading. The combination of the gases evolved from the mix along with the water vapor generated by contact with the hot HMA can produce a visible plume directly above the truck bed and under the silo impacting on employees and neighbors. Gencor’s Bottom capture system is designed to collect the vapors during truck loading by pulling gases continuously from under the silo area and then re-injecting the clean air back under the silo. The gases emitted in the loadout operation are hot and rise to where they are contained inside an enclosed containment area under the silos. A suction nozzle, located above the truck bed and in close proximity to the silo discharge gates, pulls these gases at a constant and continuous rate evacuating the loadout area. The gases then pass through the filter unit which is coated with a special oil absorbing powder that captures the condensable organics in these gases. This powder is chemically inert and non-toxic with a neutral pH and absorbs oil and hydrocarbons. The cleaned gases are then returned to the truck drive-through area which helps to contain any unfiltered gases.
