I hope you will join me July 28-30 in Colorado Springs for NAPA’s 2008 Midyear Meeting. This year’s meeting will feature expanded educational opportunities, including two plenary sessions. Everything is designed to give you takeaways that will help you run your business better.
Highway funding is a top concern, especially in an election year, and that will be the focus of the first plenary session, Monday, July 28. The always-entertaining political oracle Charlie Cook will bring his unique combination of political insight, humor, and encyclopedic knowledge to this session, making it a can’t-miss event. Learn how your company can have an impact on the future of the federal-aid highway program.

"Green is the Same Color as Money" is the theme of the plenary session on Tuesday, July 29, which will address both sustainability and recycling. The presentations will include an overview of how sustainability is affecting the market for asphalt pavements, strategies for breaking down your DOT’s barriers to more recycling, and an outline of potential legislation on climate change and cap-and-trade programs.

The meetings of NAPA’s standing committees and task forces will afford you the opportunity to guide the course of NAPA and the industry through your input and participation. Of special note: all attendees are invited to the inaugural meeting of NAPA’s Warm-Mix Asphalt Task Force, which will be a forum for information exchange and problem-solving. You will learn the latest about where these exciting new technologies are headed.

In addition, there will be unique networking opportunities as the nation’s asphalt leaders convene in the incomparable setting of the Colorado Rockies.
