Asphalt Recycling Plant Planned for Petaluma Calif.

Dutra Materials, headquartered in San Rafael, Calif., has proposed plans to build an asphalt recycling plant in Petaluma, Calif., according to a report in the Argus-Courier (Petaluma, Calif.).

The plant will process aggregate to be made into concrete and asphalt, according to the report.

Some residents and members of local environmental groups have raised concerns over possible air pollution, noise and odor from the site.

The project would require a zoning change from limited commercial to industrial use, which means the project will need to go before the county Board of Supervisors for approval, according to the report.
