Marini has launched its Top Tower 2500 asphalt plant, designed for European markets, especially Germanic and Eastern European countries. The plant from the FAYAT Group company is the fruit of joint work by the group''s engineering departments in Marini and Ermont, devoted to the design and production of hot mix asphalt (HMA) plants. The company says that revision of the ranges began at Intermat 2006, where the low version was presented with skip-fed storage. However, here at Bauma the company showed the tall version storage under the mixer, rounded off with side storage facilities. Storage under the mixer of hot asphalt is 55tonnes in each of two compartments. Marini''s Top Tower 2500 designed for Europe Giancarlo Giardini, product manager asphalt plants, said that the Top Tower plant (known as Top Magnum in some markets) is capable of producing 200tonnes/hr. With a height of nearly 30m, the batch plant is built in modules, which makes it easy to erect, says Giardini. "The plant is very flexible in use and can accept accessories including equipment for reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP), additives, and for producing warm asphalt." It can be erected in about four weeks, and the pre-wiring and pre-assemblies are carried out in the factory to cut assembly costs as much as possible on site. The area taken up on the ground is minimal, particularly because of the filter position on the dryer drum. The design, tried and tested with the previous Magnum, leads to "considerable economies thanks to optimised flows and reinforced thermal insulation." |
