Italian manufacturer Controls, has introduced a range of new equipment for testing asphalt, bituminous and pavement surface; soil and rock, concrete, cement and reinforcing bars.

The company said its display at Bauma gave it the chance to present a number of the principal products, with particular reference to road and concrete testing.

"We have had a very start year to the year and last year was fantastic. Bauma is an international show and it gives us the chance to let people see our new and technologically advanced equipment," said Florio Galli.

For asphalt and bituminous mixtures, the 75-B0008 uses the ignition method for rapid and precise determination of the bitumen content in the mix. A sophisticated system, combining combustion with weighing and continuous measurement of weight loss of the mixture, automatically ends the test when binder content is determined.

The 77-B3110 asphalt testing system, for the dynamic determination of the elastic module and fatigue behaviour of a bituminous mixture, has a testing frame, pneumatic actuator, pneumatic interface and integrated two-axis control system as well as filters and regulators.

Various test modules are available, with a wide range of software for several applications, for example fatigue tests on four points, permanent deformation tests, and indirect tensile tests.

An integrated system for flexural fatigue tests on bituminous mixture beams, the 77-B3300 beam fatigue apparatus comprises a cradle with pneumatic lateral positioning and clamping and a digital servo-controlled pneumatic actuator built into the base.
