Few companies, if any, offer a product range that can claim to build a road from start to finish. But that''s what French owned Fayat Group can do. The company''s 2300m2 of display area emphasised its extensive range of road life cycle products from many different companies. Bomag put under the spotlight its intelligent compaction technology, particularly Variocontrol, which received Intermat''s Golden Award for Innovation. Users were able to try out the capabilities of Variocontrol for themselves, using a simulator based on tests carried out at a laboratory in Rouen. Also making its appearance was a new 3tonne compactor with smooth tyres. The new MPH 122-2 and 125 pulvimixers and recyclers were also exhibited. The 122-2 has been developed from the MPH 122 in the 360kW category, whereas the MPH 125 belongs to the 440kW category and is a totally new machine designed for working at depth. With a 440kW Deutz diesel engine, the MPH 125 occupies an output class above the MPH 122, and can be used to a maximum working depth of 550mm with a working width of 2.33m. The electronic control system optimises output so that the MPH 125 can be operated continuously at maximum performance without overloading. The hydrostatic travel drive has been upgraded. For the best mix, the rotor speed can be adjusted on the run, under load, to suit the ground conditions. The rotors on the MPH 125 are provided with proven-design exchangeable edge segments because wear from milling operations is highest at the end of the rotor. The MPH 125 offers an adjustable operator''s platform, allowing the cab to be lowered. For road recycling or soil stabilisation different additive systems will be available for bitumen or water. These apply precise additive volumes into the mixing chamber during the milling process. Systems are available for water, bitumen emulsion or foamed bitumen and are automatically speed-related and managed via a screen with documentation function. |
