Ammann Group is investing its full strength to achieve impressive growth in its market shares in the compactor industry. Alongside the development of new markets, activities are focused on expanding positions in central and eastern Europe (CEE), and on the western European domestic markets, efforts that are set to be rewarded with increased sales, says the company. "Considerable investments are required to reach this goal: production capacities are being dramatically expanded in our factories at Nove Mesto nad Metuji (Czech Republic), and Hennef and Metzingen (Germany), so that we can promptly meet the welcome growth in demand. Continuous investments in the very latest production equipment are also under way at our Swiss headquarters in Langenthal. "Numerous innovative new machines will be showcased at Bauma, focusing on heavy asphalt compaction." The series of articulated tandem rollers is rounded out by the AV 75-2, a typical 7tonne machine, which has Finger Tip Steering (FTS). The newly created series of articulated tandem rollers, with the AV 110 X and AV 130 X models introduced in 2006, is now being expanded with the addition of the lightweight AV 70 X and AV 75 X. The new models are suitable for compacting asphalt base, binder and finishing courses as well as gravel and soil materials, and they offer safe and simple handling, and maximised manoeuvrability; a variety of drum versions (split and non-split), and integrated offset crab-steering enable tight compaction right to the edge of each job. They come with a range of useful options such as open ROPS platform with rails and vandal cover, asphalt temperature gauge. The AV 70 X has an operating weight of between 7.1-7.4tonnes with a compacting width of 1.45m (amplitudes of 0.62/0.3mm and frequencies of 48/63 Hz are the same as the AV 75 X), while the AV 75 X has an operating weight of 7.5-7.8tonnes, and a compacting width of 1.6m. The newly introduced AV 75-2, a rigid frame tandem roller (successor to the popular AV 75), is ideal for compacting asphalt mixtures, and is equally suited to mixed soils, sands, gravel and stabilisations. A key feature is the Finger Tip Steering, which uses a joystick instead of a steering wheel, is a novel steering function that grants the operator unlimited visibility of the material, the drum surface and the drum edges. In combination with a rotating and sliding operator station it is said to offer convenient and safe operation. A centrally located LCD display keeps the driver informed of the selected steering mode and front/rear drum positioning. The operating weight is 7.4tonnes and it has a compaction width of 1 45m. "The overriding goal in the Ammann compaction sector is, and remains, the introduction and development of Intelligent Compaction, as it is known. "The well-established ACE System (Ammann Compaction Expert) has now been thoroughly tried out in practice and integrated into a variety of single-drum and tandem rollers. The latest developments in this field are the fully hydraulic reversible AVH 6030-ACE plate with three-shaft technology, and the ACE plus (which links the proven ACE automatic measurement and control system with the latest GPS technology)." The new RW 1805 is the successor of the RW 1800 as the smallest single-drum roller in the Rammax range, and is available with both smooth and pad foot drums, and with or without a four-way dozer blade. Smooth drum segments can be retrofitted on the pad foot drum. The unit''s operating weight is 2,100kg and power comes from a Lombardini 30 kW LDW1603 water-cooled engine. |
