Ammann puts spotlight on new products

Swiss-based company Ammann launched a number of new products with the spotlight falling on new asphalt plants and compaction equipment.

Special highlights among the range of plants from the manufacturer and supplier of construction equipment were the ContiMix, the company''s first mobile continuous asphalt mixing plant, and the SpeedyBatch plant from SIM, designed for fast moves.

Another product receiving its world premiere was the hand-guided AVH 6030 compactor with the built-in ACE Continuous Compaction Control system.

Meanwhile, the Czech Stavastroj compaction range has now been completely integrated into Ammann, and the old name has gone, with newly branded rollers on show.

"France is not the only country with a considerable requirement for infrastructure: long distances in many of the new European and Middle Eastern markets mean that mobility is the basis for all economic development," says the company.

The SIM SpeedyBatch SB180/SB210 is a modular mixing plant that can be moved very quickly. Each module of the plant is a stand-alone unit in its own right with the modules linked together with plug connectors on site to allow reassembly (including start-up) within a maximum of one week.

It can be set up without foundations and has a production capacity of between 180tonnes/hr and 210tonnes/hr.

Elmar Egli, Ammann''s vice president of sales, said: "The plant is made to move from one place to another in a very short time. With this plant it is possible to change the asphalt recipes quite quickly. The first SpeedyBatch has been sold to a Portuguese company."

The ContiMix 200, with a production capacity of 200tonnes/hr, is equipped with the company''s twin-shaft paddle mixer and, except for the mixing module, it is based on the components used in Ammann''s BlackMove plant.
