The new Challenger system, designed by Turkish company e-mak, part of the Sigme Group, is claimed to be the world''s first, and only, closed-type crushing, screening and stockpiling aggregate plant directly integrated with an asphalt/concrete plant. It has taken ten years to develop, and is based on the previous experience of Simge Group companies in road construction and asphalt production fields. "Ballast materials obtained through primary crushing in stone quarries are sieved through a multi-layered vibratory screen unit and separated into groups with different sizes according to production requirements," says the company. "The relative humidity of aggregates coming from the Simge Challenger system is 25 times less than that of aggregates stored in open areas in conventional crushing and sieving systems. As a result, all the disadvantages arising from high moisture content are removed." |
