Breining''s Beluga BB7 offers hot mix asphalt plant capabilities in a compact package. This unit is designed for mobility, yet can deliver 7-10tonnes/hour of asphalt. It fits onto a twin axle trailer and features a 200litre bitumen preparation tank that provides binder at the right temperature.

The unit also comes with an immersed pump with a three way valve and a 1tonne capacity aggregate hopper that is gravity fed from a skip. The batches produced weigh 1-1.1tonnes, depending on variables such as the temperature and the type of material, with heating from a 250kW light fuel oil burner. According to the company this piece of equipment allows high quality production of asphalt on-site and it can use recycled materials. Sales and marketing manager Jacques Bonvallet said: "It''s a small recycler suitable for jobs like pothole repairs or trench filling. The main advantage of this machine is the small drum."

Because the system is closed there are no emissions according to Breining and the company claims that this machine is the only unit on the market offering a bitumen heater mixer in a compact frame.
