Vögele continues to develop its paver range with the addition of two sophisticated machines at the lower end of the line-up. Director of marketing Roland Schug said: "The new Super 1100-2 and Super 1300-2 fill a gap between the small and mid-size pavers and replace the 1203 wheeled machine. We have started with the tracked machines but we will have wheeled versions shortly."
Both pavers are fitted with the new AB340 screed, which has three phase electric heating and this allows the Super 110-2 a maximum paving width of 4.2m while the slightly larger Super 1300-2 offers a maximum paving width of 4.5m. Using hydraulic extension only the AB340 offers paving widths of 1.8-3.4m, although 400mm of mechanical extensions can be fitted to either end of the Super 1100-2''s screed and 550mm units can be bolted to the Super 1300-2. Minimum paving width is 750mm using the AB340 screed if required. Lay down rates of 350tonnes/hour are claimed for the Super 1300-2 and 300tonnes/hour for the Super 1100-2 and both models have 10tonne capacity hoppers.
These machines are designed to make them easy to move from site to site, an important feature for this paver class, and are just 1.85m wide when ready for transport. Schug said: "The most important thing is that it''s a very compact design. These are typical machines for inner city jobs."
The AB340 screed fitted to the Super 1100-2 has a vibration feature while the Super 1300-2 is offered with both vibration and a tamper system. The company''s novel ErgoPlus control system is fitted and Schug added: "They also have the same operator''s console as the other machines so an operator can go straight from a Super 1600-2 onto the Supper 100-2 or 1300-2. With the exception of the small 600 and 800 Super machines, all the Vögele pavers have the Ergo Plus controls."
Another feature is Vögele''s Niveltronic Plus levelling system, which improves finish quality. According to Vögele this is the only such system offered by a paver manufacturer as rival firms fit level controls from other suppliers. Both machines are powered by fuel efficient Deutz engines with a 56kW diesel in the Super 1100-2 and a 65kW diesel in the Super 1300-2. The machines also come with the ability to work in ambient temperatures as high as 50°C and with the option of a hydraulic hopper, as well as a range of other optional features.
